It has been some time since I last posted. I am working on a few re-design ideas for the eloymedia web site and I have been fortunate enough to have gotten a few new projects. I am excited to get working on a couple of them this month and I hope people will enjoy seeing these new sites.
Over the past couple of months I finished a web site for Great Plains Ventures, Inc. It is a simple site but I think it was much needed as their last site was very old.
Check out the site at: www.gplains.com. Let me know what you think.
I also designed a few posters for Jeeps Motor Club in Park City, Kansas and I will post some of those designs soon. I really want to re-design this site so I will probably hold off until I have all that done.
Wahoo! I am happy to post about the latest website that was developed for the Winfield USD 465 Foundation. It had been in sleep mode for awhile and it is now live. You can check the website out at www.winfieldfoundation.com.
I have been cooking in my design kitchen and it is beginning to smell really good. I hope you will enjoy these delicious designs. I am hoping that by the end of this weekend I will have a new website go live and I will share that with you all as soon as it is available. I am also working on a motorcross poster that hopefully will catch the motorcross enthusiast eye when they see it. I am also debating on revamping the eloymedia.com site.
I just think it is time for a change since I have some new skills that I have aquired over the last year. I have some rough sketches on what I want it to look like but I am also booked with these other projects that pay for me to eat. I will get to the new eloymedia design eventually.
On another note I am going to beg for kids sake! Well I am really going to Bowl for Kids Sake and I need to raise some funds to meet my goal!
Please donate or pledge anything your heart desires. If you give a dollar that is one dollar that will go towards helping these kids grow up to be better people.
My team name is the The Rockin’ Pins & the Rolling Balls – We rock and roll…seriously.
I am no celebrity but the dude in the video below is and hopefully his “hollywood” will persuade you to give a little bit. Thanks for those of you that have already pledged.
Another week is in the books and the following things are pretty sweet and interesting for geeks like me. Let me start with one thing that I haven’t tried but will eventually use on a day to day basis, that is gmail offline. Google announced that they will now provide the service online and offline. This is great for me and the millions of people that use gmail as their main e-mail application.
I really liked MS Outlook but I think Gmail has been a better fit for me just because I can check it from anywhere I am in the world. I also back up my e-mails by using Apples iMail on my Mac. Here is a short video of how Gmail Offline works.
On other geek things this week Microsoft made two announcements on the release of an Apple like Apps store. Read more here.
Well that is all for now…please do come back and read more geek stuff. I will try to keep you posted on some of the latest. Feel free to follow eloymedia on twitter.
I am amazed at how time flies by without you knowing it. I started this site about a year ago and it seems like yesterday was the las ttime that I wrote a blog but if you take a peek at the archives you will find that I am way wrong. I have been busy developing new sites and keeping clients happy. I have updated the eloymedia portfolio with the three latest sites that I have developed.
I am writing this post to let you all know that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cowley County Kansas will be having a Poker Run on October 18th and eloymedia.com just helped them launch a one-page site that people can go to and register/donate to the cause.
For all the eloymedia fans out there (or clients) I am sure you have been waiting patiently for a new post. After a few good summer months it is time to get back at it. I recently fixed a few bugs for those people who visit eloymedia with older browsers (like Internet Explorer 6) the home page and the blog page displayed poorly.
As a web designer I can honestly say that I try to do my best to support the most audience as possible but because I was extremly busy with my recent wedding/honeymoon I was not able to get to it until now.
I would recommend everyone update their browsers as they might get really weird stuff from different websites. I prefer Mozilla Firefox (click to download) and the latest version of Internet Explorer (even though I am not a big fan) because most websites are designed for the latest browsers with the option of supporting older versions (but it is up to the client/designer to do so).
Anyhow that is all for now. Two current sites in the works will be available very soon so stay tuned!
I know I have been bad about posting but I have been very busy with new projects and this wedding thing. I am getting married in about a month and we are finalizing some of the details for that shindig. I can’t wait to get it over and done!
Anyway, I recently read a couple of things that I wanted to share with people who read this blog. I have been very interested in how new applications come out that are free because well…they are free. However, they are also very cool. I ran across a couple of them lately that I thought were pretty sweet.
This is a cool online tool that lets you keep track of all your finances. Unfortunately, I couldn’t try it because my bank doesn’t support it. That is the downfall of having a smaller bank. However, if you have credit cards/bigger bank accounts this tool is pretty sweet. It allows you to track where your money is going and it has received a lot of rave reviews. Check it out
This is a website that helps you keep track of your whole life…kind of. It allows for you to keep up with your appointments, to-do lists, and any other schedule type things. Looks pretty cool!
Okay, I am in need of some food so I am going now. I will keep posting cool technologies as I find them.
I know you have tried to e-mail all those pictures to your family and they don’t get them. The files are too big and therefore you give up. I have been there before. The next thing you try is sending them one or two at a time but if you have thirty images that takes some time. Lucky for you and me there is a new tool out there for us to use.
YouSendIt is a free large file size transfer tool that a lot of people are using today. I have received a few files from other people that used the tool and it seems to work great. The best thing about it is that you can use it for free (with some limitations but you can upgrade).
Well hope this “intuition tip” was of some help. I will keep posting new virtual tools as I find them.
It has been a “quick minute” since I last wrote a post so let me get to it! This last weekend was a lot of fun that ended with an eye check-up. That went well since nothing has changed I am still in dire need of glasses or/and contacts. I bought new glasses and as soon as they come in I will take a picture to see what you all think about the new “look.”
As a designer I am very scared when things happen to my eyes. For example, when I get an eye infection it is not very fun. I have thought about Lasik but I am still scared of the big “what if.” Most eye doctors are very confident in the procedure but I am not ready yet.
Anyhow that is it for tonight…keep visiting to read my ramblings.
